Privacy Policy
How the Pescatarian Guide app processes your data.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Kandyb Studio, contact: hello@kandyb-studio.eu.
2. In short
- No account and no sign-in.
- We run no server of our own. Your profile, food log and settings stay on your phone.
- No analytics, no Firebase, no Crashlytics.
- The free version shows Google AdMob ads. A one-time Lifetime purchase turns them off.
- We don't sell any data.
3. What the app stores on your device
Everything you enter is kept only in your phone's storage. It is never sent to us or to any server.
- Diet profile: life stage (such as pregnancy, breastfeeding or trying to conceive), body weight, age range, sex, activity level, goals, allergies and any health conditions you tick (such as anemia or kidney disease).
- Your food log for the current week and the history of past weeks.
- Favourites, saved meals, your weekly plan and lesson progress.
- Daily wellbeing notes (energy level).
- Settings, including reminders, units and theme.
- A local error log (section 8).
Some of this is health information. That is why it never leaves your phone unless you export a copy yourself (section 7).
You can erase all of it in the app under Settings → Delete my data. Uninstalling the app erases it too.
4. Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version shows full-screen (interstitial) ads from Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve an ad, Google may process device information (such as model, OS version and IP address) and advertising identifiers. Google does this as a separate data controller, under its own policies.
- EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ad loads, the app shows Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform). Your choice decides whether ads are personalized. You can change it any time under Settings → Privacy & data → Ad privacy choices.
- iOS: the app asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency). If you allow it, ads may use the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you don't, ads are non-personalized. You can change this in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: ads may use your phone's advertising ID. You can reset or delete it in your phone's settings, under Ads.
Buying Lifetime turns ads off. From the next launch on, the app does not contact Google's ad network at all.
How Google uses this data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
5. The Lifetime purchase
The app has a single purchase: "Lifetime — Remove ads". You pay once and the ads are gone for good. It is not a subscription and nothing renews.
Payment is handled directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app only receives the store's confirmation that the purchase exists. We never see your card or any other payment details. No third-party purchase provider is involved.
Restore purchase asks the store what your Apple or Google account owns and turns the ad-free version back on if it finds the purchase.
Apple and Google handle purchase data under their own policies: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy.
6. Reminders
Reminders, such as the weekly one, are optional. You switch them on yourself and your phone schedules them locally. No data leaves the device.
7. Backup
Settings → Export my data creates a JSON file with your data and opens the system share sheet. You decide where to save it or who to send it to. Restore from backup reads a file you pick. We have no access to these files.
8. Error log
The app keeps an error log on your phone: the error description, technical details, app and OS version, device model, language setting and a short list of your last steps in the app. It does not contain your profile or food log.
A report leaves your phone only if you share it yourself, from Settings → Diagnostics or when the app offers to send one after a crash. You pick the recipient in the share sheet.
9. Home-screen widget (iOS)
The widget shows how your week is going. It reads data the app stored locally and sends nothing anywhere.
10. When the app uses the internet
The guide, the planner and your data all work offline. The app goes online only to show ads in the free version, to complete or restore a purchase, and to open a link you tap (for example a source or this page).
11. How long data is kept
Data in the app exists until you delete it or uninstall the app. We hold no copy. Google keeps ad-related data, and Apple and Google keep purchase records, each under their own policies. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
12. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO).
Your data lives only on your phone, so you can exercise most of these rights in the app yourself: export covers portability and Delete my data covers erasure. You can withdraw ad consent in the settings described in section 4. More: Data deletion.
13. Children
The app is meant for adults and is not directed at children. The guide includes general FDA/EPA advice about fish for young children, written for parents. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
14. Health
The app gives educational information based on public FDA, EPA and USDA data. It is not medical advice. During pregnancy, while breastfeeding or if you have a health condition, talk to your doctor about your diet.
15. Changes
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. We will announce significant changes in the app or on this page.
